Marilyn Jacobson
Director of Communication
Marilyn has more than 15 years public relations and corporate
communication experience. Prior to joining the
Citizens’ Assembly, she worked as an independent
consultant specializing in issues and project management, strategic
planning, stakeholder relations, executive communication and
government relations.
Her prior experience includes a number of years with TELUS/BC
TEL where she had responsibility for executive communication,
internal communication, issues and project management and
government relations.
Marilyn has also taught public relations and communications
courses for several years at the university
level — for both Trinity Western University
and the University of Victoria (Certificate in Public Relations
program). She holds masters degrees in Communication (Wheaton
Graduate School, Illinois) and Business Administration (Simon
Fraser University), is an accredited member of the Canadian Public
Relations Society and currently serves on the board of the Canadian
Public Relations Society (Vancouver).
Marilyn’s idea of a great vacation involves a lot of
hiking and kayaking in pristine temperate wilderness. Or snorkeling
and sailing in the tropics. Or cycling in Europe. Or climbing Mount
Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.
