Members on Mandarin TV

24-APR-2004 - Assembly members Angela Hsu and Jack Zhang are to appear on an hour-long live TV news broadcast and viewer phone-in on Channel M Interactive, for the Lower Mainland's Mandarin-speaking Chinese community. It takes place on Saturday, April 24, at 8:30pm. Channel M, the multicultural TV station, is on cable 8 in the Lower Mainland.

Discussion in Salmon Arm

Members on North Shore

15-APR-2004 - Assembly members Gene Quan and Cliff Garbutt speak to the Federation of North Vancouver Community Associations. The meeting will be in the Council committee room at the North Vancouver District Hall, 355 West Queens Road, at 7 p.m. It is open to the public, free, but seating is very limited. Member on Punjabi radio

14-APR-2004 - Assembly member Manjit Dhaliwal appears on Burnaby-based Radio Rim Jhim. Starting at 3:30pm, the show will last 30 minutes, most of it in Punjabi. You can get Rim Jhim via cable in some communities, or with an SCA-radio decoder. Rim Jhim has 20,000 household subscribers in the Lower Mainland alone.

Jack Blaney at Harvard

Fort St. John council

13-APR-2004 - Assembly member Wilf Chelle appears before the Fort St. John city council to give an update on the Assembly's progress. The council meeting itself starts at 5:30 p.m. in council chambers, 10631 - 100th Street. Wilf is scheduled to speak at 6:10 p.m.

Ken Carty on radio

13-APR-2004 - Dr. Ken Carty, an expert on world electoral systems and director of research for the Citizens' Assembly, appears on the Rafe Mair show on 600AM radio, Vancouver. The segment starts at 10:04 a.m. and runs until 10:30.  Dr. Carty was the leader of the Assembly members "Learning Phase" in January-March, during which they studied electoral systems from numerous countries.

21-MAR-2004 - Assembly members wind up Weekend 6 of their six-weekend Learning Phase. Their meetings start at 9 a.m., and end at noon at the Morris J. Wosk Centre for Dialogue, 580 West Hastings Street, Vancouver. Open to public, but space is limited.

20-MAR-2004 - Assembly members begin Weekend 6 of their six-weekend Learning Phase. Their meetings start at 9 a.m., and end at 4:45 p.m. at the Morris J. Wosk Centre for Dialogue, 580 West Hastings Street, Vancouver. Open to public, but space is limited.
