legislationLaws and government regulations are collectively known as
legislation. A bill (a proposal for a law) which has
been passed by the British Columbia
Legislative Assembly
and has been
assented to by the
lieutenant governor
, becomes law as
an act of parliament. Such an act of parliament can
also be referred to as a statute of British Columbia.
