Abstract
I am in favour of changing the voting system to a proportional representation system. I like the mixed pro rep system that is used in New Zealand [MMP]. I feel that this would be a good choice for the people of BC. [1 page]

Thankyou for all of your hard work. I believe that this is an excellent grass roots process to find out how the current voting system in BC can be improved. We have certainly had some unacceptable outcomes in the election of the last 8 years. In 1996, the NDP was elected without a majority of voters supporting them. In 2001, the Liberals won 57% of the vote and got 97% of the seats in the legislature. I don't think either of these results work for the public and for a true democracy. In a democracy, everyone should have an equal voice and these two results clearly show this is not the case.
