My husband and I gave up on voting for many years now. Being a
British Columbian, we felt that the voting system for the west was
extremely unfair. The east coast always got the results first and
the west had not finished voting yet. So the results were known
before we were done. The population on the East is certainly higher
then the west, leaving the west with the
feeling of why did we even bother. Sounds very one sided to me and
left us very frustrated.
My husband and I feel that there should only be a 2 party
system, with the winning leader only able to stay in government for
8 years tops. That would give leaders and voters time to regroup.
We also feel that there should be an even amount of representatives
for the East and West so that all is fair in the entire system. We
feel that our political system as it stands now is very old hat and
needs updating to a new a more modern day system. They say change
is good. It seems to be unless it involves our electoral system and
the politicians involved. Changes are necessary to keep the public
interested and caring about their country.
Thank you for letting us have this opportunity to voice our
opinion.
