The importance of only one chance at getting it right -- a revision
in our traditional but outdated electoral system -- the first time
for generations of voters in BC with your decision By December 2004
can not be overstated. Your opportunity to offer an acceptable
electoral change as an option to all BC voters is of utmost
importance. Non-acceptance of your recommendation by the required
majority will see BC residents remain in the undemocratic bottom
layer of humanity aspiring to democratic governance of progressive
priorities.
With the obvious preponderance of MMP rather than STV system
submissions to your committee. I must plead for your support of
MMP. Acceptance of the STV though supported by a few highly
educated honorable people, democracy is for and by the people, the
hoi poloi if you will, who will choose their leaders as directly as
possible and practicable at the time. Having called upon you to
remedy the shortcomings of our present, traditional electoral
system, a leap too far into the complex is not a requirement nor an
expectation of the majority as the ratios of the submissions in
your possesion clearly indicates.
