Abstract
The Assembly should seriously consider proportional representation [PR].  Here in BC, the party that had 56% of the vote ended up with 98% of the seats, and in 1991 the Liberals had most votes but fewer seats that the NDP.  [1 page]

Submission Content
I would like to put forward a motion for the Assembly to seriously consider proportional representation [PR]. Most counties that use this system, (Sweden, Denmark etc) have a voter participation rate of around 80%. Our last federal election had only around 61% and the Provincial elections are similar. Not to mention here in BC, the party that had 56% of the Vote ended up with 98% of the seats, and in 1991 the Liberals had the popular vote and lost the election. Basically the system we have is not working as far as getting people interested.
