Submission Content
I support a change in our voting system.  The sort of politics we have had to endure over the last number of elections has been very dispiriting, I believe for most of us.  It’s no wonder that voter participation, especially among young people, is on the decline.

Having been thinking about this for a long while, and having read your very informative handout “Hope for Democracy in BC”, I think some sort of Mixed Member Proportional (New Zealand) system makes by far the most sense for British Columbia.  I accordingly urge you to work on a proposal for this system, as it be properly put into legislative language, for the 2005 referendum.

I shall follow developments in the work of the Assembly with great interest.  All good wishes to you.
