Abstract
I favour MMP with 53 riding seats and 26 party list seats.  The party lists would have only two names on them specified by the party, and remaining list candidates would come from a party's 'best losers' in the riding seats. [1 page]

Here are my thoughts on Reform of BC’s voting system:

I favour the Mixed Member Proportional (MMP) voting system.  It is made up of one ballot for the constituency candidate and one for the Party. It is simple and not hard for the voter to understand.

I favour the 2/3 and 1/3 split between the ridings. In other words the number of representatives remains the same (based on population), but the number of ridings get larger to accommodate the split. 2/3 are first past the post and 1/3 are the Party vote. In B.C. it would be 53 ridings past the post and 26 positions for Party votes. So at the end of the voting some of the ridings will have two representatives in them.

Minimum 5% rule that the party needs to get seats.

Here I vary the MMP — The Party votes: I favour the Party having two (2) on a Party list (Closed) I believe that is the term. The Party list should be published beforehand (the leader can/should be on the list). And the rest would be chosen from candidates who are running in the different ridings, but who were not elected. This would be based on their election results. The one with the most votes gets the seat after of course the Party has chosen their two from the closed list (This closed list is to accommodate the Party in case their leader has not been elected and the other seat is to have their “financial expert” in place if the person has not been elected. If both are elected then the Party can appoint whoever they feel best suited).
