I would like to suggest that we consider a consensus form of government.

The province should be split into 40 equal (by population) constituences. Each area would elect 2 representatives (1 male,1 female) for a total of 80 MLAs. First Nations could elect their own representatives (again male & female) based on total population. These representatives would then chose from themselves who would be Premier, Speaker, etc. in the Legislature. As the Speaker cannot vote, there would be little chance of a tie vote on any legislation.

I would also suggest that candidates in each area could not show or run on any political party platform but would have to explain how they would represent their consituents and the province.

I would set election dates to take place every 4 1/2 years. I would also set a maximum two term limit for any candidate to be in the legislature.
I would also make voting mandatory in all elections with substancial fine for not casting your vote. I would also cap spending by candidates in an election to $15,000 to allow more citizens the opportunity to run for office.
