Abstract
Representation by location does not represent the people's views fully and limits the voter's choice.  BC needs a modified system of proportional representation [PR] which prevents big cities from dominating rural areas. [1 page]

I wanted to write in to express my support for a better system of popular representation in the BC (and for that matter federal) voting system. Representation by location does not represent the people's views fully. Also by location means less choice for the voter as it leads to a smaller number of parties.

As we saw recently in the federal election, the Green Party received around 4.5% of the popular vote but has no representation at all in government. This is not right. This is not democracy.

Clearly we don't want to see a wholely PR voting system since big cities would dominate rural areas. I suggest something along the lines of what is posited here:

Let's create a true demoncracy for BC and show the rest of Canada how its done!
