Submission Content
I would like to see two things:

  • MLAs that actually are voted in by a majority
  • A balance of population and regional power.
I would like to see 50 MLAs elected by population through a MMP system or something similar that would give minority opinions some voice in our system.

Then divide the province into 50 equal areas and have an MLA in each of them as well. All MLAs having equality in the parliamentary process. This would still give the high population areas slightly more power but would put some regional balance into the system.

Alternating the population and regional elections every two years (possibly three years, six year terms) would add continuous accountability to our leading parties.
