Abstract

Submission Content
I have already made a brief submission to the Assembly, advocating in favour of the MMP system of proportional representation for BC.

Having been informed recently that a small number of influential individuals have tried to steer the Assembly away from an MMP solution and towards the much less promising and more complicated STV system, I felt compelled to make a second submission in support of the MMP system.

The Assembly must put forward the option with the greatest chance of receiving sufficient votes from BC citizens, in order for us to finally get the proportional representation we so badly need. Clearly, this most promising option is the MMP system.

I urge the Assembly to truly reflect majority opinion as expressed in the public input process, and give the MMP option the support it deserves. Otherwise, we risk missing out on a great opportunity to have greater democracy in this province, by giving opponents of "pro rep" all the ammunition they need to shoot down the proposal.
