I believe that we do need electoral reform in BC. I
also would love to see campaign reform. I think that
condidates should be allowed only to talk about their mandates,
ideas and proposals; criticism of other parties and candidates
should not be allowed. As it is now, most candidates
have no boundaries on this, and some compaigns are only about how
bad the other guy is, with nothing about what that
person stands for.
I would also love to see BC governed by a committee, with no
political leader, no Premier. If we could somehow
remove the ego trip from politics, maybe we would have a government
that was a group of people who just wanted to do a good
job. I know working with a committee slows things down,
but I think that is what we need. Too many decisions
have been made lately that change life in British Columbia as we
know it.
