Submission Content
This is our submission to you on the voting system we would like to see in British Columbia. We do not like the present system because too often, we feel unrepresented.  We would prefer a Mixed Member Proportional [MMP] system similar to New Zealand’s system. Such a system would give our votes weight no matter how every one else voted and we would feel then that we live in a true democracy.

It alarms us that so many people have “given up” on voting or vote “strategically’ because they think a “lost” vote is no vote at all.  We do not agree with that way of thinking but a Mixed Member Proportional system would show the value of each vote and it would also help more than any polls to show political parties the trend of thinking among the electorate. It appears to be so superior to any other system we have heard of that we earnestly ask you to recommend it.
