I have lived in BC my whole life except for the last 5 years in
New Zealand. I have returned just last spring. The
problem I saw in the NZ MMP system was the power given to parties

I am writing because I have been reading that we are considering
moving to some sort of MMP system.
I have lived in BC my whole life except for the last 5 years in New
Zealand. I have returned just last spring. The problem
I saw in the NZ MMP system was the power given to parties with a
small percentage of the popular vote. A minority
government always results in this system and the mainstream party
has to bargain with a couple of small extremists that get 5 or 7%
of the vote.
