I emphatically endorse the Mixed Member Proportional [MMP] system of voting; such a system allows for the inclusion of a diversity of perspectives and the creation of new solutions that would move us away from the present undemocratic, polarized winner- takes-all first-past-the-post system. In other words, an MMP system is inclusive and creative -- the FPTP system the opposite. With the adoption of MMP, politicians can regain public confidence and participation, especially among the younger generation.

My concern is this, however: assuming that the assembly does recommend such a change, how will the vast public, still uninformed through lack of interest and/or awareness of this project, vote once the inevitable media spin manages to confuse/scare them all? If we blow this chance, the thought of staying with the status quo is just too depressing for words. Thank you for all your hard work. I wish for a successful outcome.
