CIVIC.NET/ELECTRONIC PARTICIPATORY DEMOCRACY

CIVIC.NET

A separate computer network provided by the governments of Canada for their citizens. It would be non-commercial, for the civil activities of the citizens of Canada. It could be used for everything from political parties to community soccer groups.

ELECTRONIC PARTICIPATORY DEMOCRACY

Decision making should be in the hands of the citizens. With the Civic.net in place, a central computer could query individual citizens' political database of the citizens' ideas, to determine their response to any given question. If an answer to the question cannot be determined from the database, a question could be left for the citizen to respond to which would then expand the citizens' data base.
