I suggest the present system in which a person may vote for the
candidate of their choice in their riding, is the most democratic
one that we have available. The only way this could be more
democratic is if the ridings were smaller, so that more people
could be represented.
Any manipulation of the present system that resulted in people
not elected in their riding actually taking a seat in the
legislature would, in my opinion, leave us subject to dishonest
manipulation of the voting system.
First past the post is an inaccurate way to describe our present
voting system as it misleads us into thinking that the votes are
not counted when, in fact, they are.
