As is often the case, we can see parallels between the social
and the natural world.
A healthy ecosystem supports and encourages a wide range of
species. The more diversity that exists in the system, the more
effectively it can resist destructive forces.
A weak ecosystem, like a monocultured crop, encourages only its own
propagation. This is exactly the behaviour we see on the current
political landscape: politicians and parties that exist only for
their own re-election.
I would strongly support the adoption of a Mixed Member
Proportional [MMP] system, which would promote political
diversity in the legislature and give a more effective voice to ALL
citizens of British Columbia.
