I am writing to you re this matter because I believe we must find a
more inclusive system of provincial political representation in our
province. First past the post has its merits but I think we need a
system that is more finely tuned and responsive.
In that regard, I would like to recommend proportional
represenation [PR] for a limited trial period with some
means of correcting unforseen consequences where they may arise. It
would appear that a system of proportional representation could
make voters feel that their vote will really count. It would be
most gratifying if PR resulted in higher voter interest and turnout
at the polls.
