Abstract
There should be no quotas for representation.  Those women who are our current representatives are there because the voters considered them to be the best candidates, not the best women candidates. [1 page]

Submission Content
As before I commend the Citizens' Assembly for their commitment to democratic change and review.

One additional point I would like to meet is that I completely disagree with quotas for anyone, be they women , aboriginals or pumpkins. Those elected represesenting the voter should be selected by the voter on the basis of what they stand for, how well they present themselves as being committed to representing their platform and their constituents, not because they are a woman or anything else. I would think that women would be insulted by getting appointed by parties, which is one of the major complaints with our current system. Those women who are our current representatives are there because the voters considered them to be the best candidates, not the best women candidates.
