The proposition I want the Citizens’ Assembly to
consider is some form of proportional representation [PR], and to
move to this system as quickly as possible. The current
system does not adequately represent the diversity of ideas and
values held by the electorate. I do not have a
recommendation of which type of system to go to, except simplicity,
equity and fairness should be deciding factors for the assembly to
consider.
I am thrilled that we are going through this important exercise,
and look forward to a positive outcome.
