MMP will help voters to
feel that their vote actually counts, especially when
they want to see change, and will end this "voting for a party I
dislike to avoid a party I dislike more" syndrome we've come to
accept normal. [1 page]

I prefer Mixed Member Proportional Representation to other forms of
electing government.
This electoral system will give BC the vital recognition
territories and first nations deserve, while truly reflecting what
the majority of British Columbians want their government to consist
of. It will also help dramatically to have voters feel like their
vote actually counts, especially when they want to see change, and
will end this "voting for a party I dislike to avoid a party I
dislike more" syndrome we've come to accept as "just the way it
is". The example in New Zealand has also shown a dramatic increase
in the participation of women and native groups in the democracy of
that country since MMP was instituted, a result I feel passionate
about creating.
Single Transferable Vote still has the possibility of resulting in
governments not accurately representative of the people's
desires.
I honour each and every one of you wonderful, dedicated citizens
working so hard and willingly to create a better British Columbia
for all British Columbians.
