I can't believe the assembly has chosen STV advocates as 3 of the 9 final presenters, even though only 4% of the BC respondants were in favor of STV. Only 2 people (both non-experts) are being allowed to speak for MMP, even though MMP is favored by 70% of submitters to the asembly's website. And why are there only two women among the final presenters?

STV counting is too complicated explain to referendum voters, it's non-transparent, STV is not truly proportional, it leads to more adversarial campaigns even within parties, and it results in fewer women being elected. It's not popular in the rest of the world for good reason, and was clearly rejected by New Zealand.

MMP is easily applied to BC elections, it's proportional, and it results in fairer representation for everyone in BC. It's easy to explain to referendum voters, and it's already a very popular idea among British Columbians. MMP is the best chance to pass election reform for BC, and it could be an excellent example of proportional representation for the rest of Canada.

Please choose MMP as the referendum option and don't be pushed around by a small group that wants to force through an STV system.
