I would like to see BC move towards proportional representation
[PR]. Currently, small political parties are effectively locked out
of power by the neccessity of raising large amounts of money for
advertising. They are caught in a Catch-22 situation. They cannot
raise large amounts of money because they cannot get their message
out and they cannot get their message out because, due to small
membership, they cannot raise large amounts of money. This makes it
effectively impossible for a new party to make initial gains.
Proportional representation will allieviate this and, to some
degree, level the playing field.
