Citizens' Assembly Member Profile

STEPHEN PAETKAU is concerned about the lack of "civic engagement" in the electoral and political processes and says if the work of the Assembly raises the level of citizen involvement, that alone will be an accomplishment. Stephen was born in Edmonton and has lived in BC continuously since 1993. He resides in Vancouver and is self-employed as an occupational diver. He primarily does boat inspections, underwater photography for insurance purposes and minor boat repairs. Stephen is hoping to resume his studies in political science and history at Langara College in September. Stephen and his wife have a two-year-old daughter. He enjoys running (90 km. a week) and is an avid reader.
