Deborah Young
DEBORAH YOUNG lives at Lone Butte, near 100 Mile House. She is
self-employed in the tourism industry, promoting the "Fishing
Highway" – Highway 24 – which passes by
more than 20 fishing resorts and more than 100 lakes. For 12 years,
Deborah had a fishing resort at Lac Des Roches. She was born in
Port Colbourne, Ontario, and owned a chain of 36 day care centres
in that province for children six months to 12 years. Deborah has
lived in B.C. for the past 14 years. She has been married for 18
years. "It’s pure democracy," Deborah says of the
Assembly. "It’s really exciting because
it’s never happened before. I hope to make the
electoral process more representative of the public."
