Citizens' Assembly Member Profile

JOANNE VANDER MEULEN says serving on the Citizens' Assembly is an opportunity to get "out of my box and do something for my own personal growth and for the community." She wants to make sure "every citizen is heard" in the process. Born in Smithers, Joanne has lived there all her life. She is widowed with two boys, ages 11 and 15. Joanne is a receptionist at a car dealership. She is a member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority and is a volunteer fundraiser in the Ladies Workshop of the Bulkley Valley Christian School. Her interests include camping, fishing, reading, stained-glass handicraft and sewing.
