Darleen Dixon
DARLEEN DIXON was the first member selected to the Assembly and
a resident of Fort Nelson at the time she was selected.
She just recently moved to Vernon. Darleen was born in
Saskatchewan but has lived in B.C. since 1991.
Currently, Darleen, a retired nurse, owns a fabric store in Fort
Nelson. Her community involvements include
the Fort Nelson Chamber of Commerce, the Fort Nelson Garden Club
and general community support. Her hobbies include
sewing, quilting and other needlecrafts. Darleen and
her husband have two married children and seven
grandchildren. Darleen sees the Citizens’
Assembly as an opportunity “to do something for our
country.” She says she has been
“a little unhappy about how we
vote.” “This is an opportunity
to learn and perhaps to change something,” says
Darleen.
