Citizens' Assembly Member Profile

JEREMY YOUNG, of Victoria, is a self-employed marine consultant/ship’s captain who, for the last five years, has been working around the world, particularly in Russia and the Far East on ice breakers and a variety of international marine oil and gas projects.  Jeremy hopes the work of the Citizens’ Assembly will improve democracy in B.C. by finding a system which more accurately represents the people.  Born in Victoria, he has lived most of his life in B.C. except for work offshore and periods in Manitoba and Ontario.  Jeremy is past president of Fairfield Community Association, a member of the Company of Master Mariners of Canada and a member of the Royal Victoria Yacht Club.  He is married and enjoys reading, boating and travelling.
