Richard Hall

RICHARD HALL, of Courtenay, a retired United Church clergyman, was born in Victoria and has lived in B.C. all his life, except for three years in Saskatchewan.  He has been married 53 years, has three children, four grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.  Richard is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Courtenay, and on the boards of the L'Arche Home (Courtenay) and the Comox United Church.  He was Chaplain with the Boy Scouts of Canada for 30 years as well as with the Branch 44 Royal Canadian Legion for 25 years. Richard enjoys church camping and touring with youth choirs.  He has conducted a number of senior citizens’ choirs.  In the 1950s, Richard was a public relations and education officer for the B.C. Forest Service.  “We’re coming into a new era, yet some of our institutions, like our electoral system, are institutions of the past,” he says.
