Glen Mackinnon
GLEN MACKINNON was born in Piney, Manitoba and has lived in B.C.
for the last 35 years. Now retired, he was a building contractor in
Kamloops and in Nanaimo, where he now lives. Glen has been married
54 years and has four grown children, nine grandchildren and one
great grandson. He was in the Canadian military during the Second
World War but never saw action overseas. Glen is immediate past
president of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 257 in Lantzville. In
2002, he received the Queen's Jubilee Medal for community service
in Nanaimo, primarily as service officer of the Legion providing
disability pensions to deserving veterans. These days Glen enjoys
watching sports with his grandchildren and "helping out where I
can." He says he is "extremely curious" about electoral systems and
wants to know why there is so much apathy at voting time
