ART BEAUMONT was born in Verdun, Quebec and has lived in B.C.
for the last 35 years. He lives in Sooke, is married and the father
of two grown children. Now retired, Art was a ship's officer on
towboats on the B.C. Coast, as well as along the U.S. west coast to
Mexico. He is a former member of the Masonic Lodge but now spends
his time helping his kids, doing woodwork and "catching up on
television," which he missed during his seafaring days. Art says he
likes the idea of the Assembly because it is a grassroots citizens'
effort, not a political or government organization.
