Citizens' Assembly Member Profile

ILENE ZUROWSKI, a resident of Kamloops, was a deputy returning officer in the early 90s and has always been interested in the election process. Born in Floral, Saskatchewan, Ilene has lived in B.C. since 1970. She worked for the Saskatchewan Government Telephone Co. for 15 years and raised three children. Now widowed, Ilene is still involved in the family business, Trak Tech Equipment Ltd., which her sons now run. She has volunteered at Royal Inland Hospital for the past 19 years. Ilene is a member of the River Valley Quilt Guild and makes quilts for premature babies in intensive care at the hospital. She was also involved in making quilts for McLure - Barriere fire victims in the summer of 2003. Ilene also enjoys walking and golf.
