KATIE CAVALETTO wants to get more young people involved in the political system. "Most of my friends don't vote," she says. "The political issues don't concern any of their issues in life. And it's a vicious circle. A lot of young people don't know how the political system works. But it is important." Katie, who is married, thinks the Assembly's work could foster a greater involvement from young people. Katie was born in Kamloops and has lived there all her life. She recently completed a Bachelor of Arts in human geography at the University College of the Cariboo. "I'm waitressing at the moment, waiting for a fabulous job. I'd like to work for the city in urban planning," she says. Katie volunteers with the SPCA on data entry and fostering.
