Citizens' Assembly Member Profile

Wilf Chelle

WILF CHELLE is a B.C. rancher who was born in a log house in Stockholm, Saskatchewan. Thirty-one years later, he staked land at Buick, B.C. and moved there in 1967. Buick is 18 miles north of Mile 73 on the Alaska Highway. Wilf owns about 1,000 acres and has a grazing licence for another 2,200 acres. He is a member of the Canadian Legion, the Buick Friendship Society, the Peace River Woodlot Association and the Peace River Cattlemen's Association. One of Wilf's interests is in small-scale sustainable forests. He says the establishment of a Citizens' Assembly on Electoral Reform " will set a precedent for addressing other big problems in the future."
