I appreciate the work the Assembly has done to date, Thank You All. It is important to me that our system of counting votes be made proportional so that my vote (and my husband's) will finally count. Under our current 'first past the post' system, it is difficult to be motivated to vote at all. As this Federal election approaches I have not had the stomach to read about any promises, it's such a waste of time.

My family (& myself) are considering moving away from B.C. and Canada; partly because we feel that we have no control over what government gets elected and once a party does get in power we have no way of holding them accountable or seeing them keep any of the promises they made during their campaign. And partly because we are being charged so much money by this dictatorship. Our logic is why pay so much for so little, we could take our dollars to a county that admits openly it's a dictatorship and buy our rights.  At least bribes are available to all people in third world countries usually on a sliding scale. Unlike here in Canada where being willing to pay is not enough; bribes in Canada are only available to the connected. This country's political system is due for a major overhaul and proportional representation in B.C. is a good start.
