Abstract
I feel proportional voting would be a better system to represent the people because it would encourage more people to vote. When apathy rules the day in the general populace, democracy faulters.  [1 page]

I feel BC has a voting system that is both out of date and inadequate in serving the will of the people. For example, BC's current government was elected on less than half of votes and yet currently holds over 95% of minister seats. Clearly this is not a fair representation. A change is needed.

I feel proportional voting would be a better system to represent the people. I feel it would also encourage more people to vote given the belief that every vote counts. When apathy rules the day in the general populace, democracy faulters, and with it the power and responsibility to govern ourselves. Our present voting system I feel is a mirror of this situation.

It is why I ask the Citizens' Assembly to consider Mixed Member Proportional Representation (MMP) voting, and at the very least make change in that direction with reguards to our present voting system.
