You are all doing an amazing job, thank you so much for your
work and effort.
All I have to say is I think the voting figures for BC, from the
recent Federal Election, show the crying need for electoral reform,
the Greens made large gains, for instance, some 18% of the vote, in
Saanich and the Gulf Islands, with the NDP polling a
higher % still. However, under our present system some
40 odd % of voters here might as well be disenfranchised, for all
the influence their vote has.
If we want to maintain a vibrant democracy, where our
youth in particular, feel it is worth while voting, some form of
proportional representation [PR] has to be implemented.
Otherwise, we will fast achieve voting turnout figures similar to
the figures for the USA, syndrome, in my opinion, of an alienated
society.
