Abstract
If we want to maintain a vibrant democracy where our youth, in particular, feel it is worth while voting, some form of PR has to be implemented. Otherwise, we will fast achieve voting turnout figures similar to the figures for the USA. [1 page]

You are all doing an amazing job, thank you so much for your work and effort.

All I have to say is I think the voting figures for BC, from the recent Federal Election, show the crying need for electoral reform, the Greens made large gains, for instance, some 18% of the vote, in Saanich and the Gulf Islands, with the  NDP polling a higher % still.  However, under our present system some 40 odd % of voters here might as well be disenfranchised, for all the influence their vote has.

If we want to maintain a vibrant democracy, where our youth in particular, feel it is worth while voting, some form of proportional representation [PR] has to be implemented. Otherwise, we will fast achieve voting turnout figures similar to the figures for the USA, syndrome, in my opinion, of an alienated society.

Thank you once again for all you are doing.
