I am writing to express my strong support for the idea of the
Mixed Proportional Representation [MMP] method of voting and
organizing our legislature.
I am sure you have been provided with information on this idea from
the Free Your Vote campaign, so I do not need to go into the
details here about how it works. I would just like to say that it
looks to me like the system that would more fairly represent more
of the people and their views. In areas where it is used, voter
apathy has gone down and participation gone up, as people believe
that their vote really counts, and they feel more truly
represented. It would be wonderful if B.C. could convert to this
style of voting. I urge you to consider it carefully and hope that
it is what you will recommend.
