Firstly, I completely support the adoption of a proportional
representation system for electing our MLAs. We need all views
represented in our government. This may result in more minority
governments but I believe this will actually improve the type of
decisions made. Our present system results in wild swings between
the two main opposing views.
I would like to see adopted in BC the type of proportional
representation called "MMP" This is the type found in New
Zealand. I support this system because it not only
produces a legislature that is truly representative of the way
votes were cast but also has MLA's that represent individual
ridings.
