Submission Content
I feel that it is unnecessary that electors in BC and municipal elections be Canadian citizens. It is proper for federal elections to exclude non-citizens since that determines citizenship policy; but, resident property owners are affected by and liable to pay for measures affecting their property depending on the outcome of provincial and municipal elections. Whether or not they are citizens, they should be allowed the opportunity to determine the outcome. In fact, it is only in recent decades that UK citizens have not been permitted to vote in Canada.
