Abstract
Teaching politics in schools (in an unbiased way) might increase the turnout of young people at elections as long as the electoral system was changed.  Without electoral change, youth still won't care to participate. [1 page]

I would like to write a follow-up on my speech that I presented in Smithers on June the 7th. As I had spoken on behalf of the disenfranchised youth. I was asked if teaching politics in school would make a difference. I said it would.

What I would like to add is that if we do teach it, it has to be 100% unbiased and cover every political party platform. This may be difficult to swallow but it has to be all or nothing at all. There was also some discussion about lowering the voting age. On this I have some mixed feelings because, if we don't change the voting system from its current system to a more proportional one, it won't matter how young the voting age is, the youth still won't care to participate. We want to know our vote matters and that has to change first then we can look into bringing it into our schools.
