First, to thank Members of the Assembly for volunteering and
dedicating their time to this valuable process of cooperative
research that will inform the ultimate decision on electoral reform
in 2005.
Second, my particular interest is in proportional representation
based upon the MMP systems as currently obtain (I believe) in New
Zealand and Germany.
Naturally it would be wonderful to see British Columbia
fostering the evolving of a British Columbia system based on local
conditions and the wishes of the B.C. population. We have to start
somewhere. To see coalitions of parties working together on
decision-making and to see more and more votes reaching effective
decisions are processes I eagerly look forward to.
It's good to be involved too.
