I would like to see major changes in our current voting system
as I believe many people feel that it isn't worth it to vote at all
and yet, in other countries, people will fight and die for the
right to vote. It seems to me that democracy is an incredible ideal
but what we have in BC is just certain special interest
groups gaining control to push their agendas until people get tired
of that, and then another contradicting agenda gets implemented for
a period.
I would like for there to be more stability in direction and for
people to feel like their vote counted; therefore I believe that a
mixed member proportional [MMP] system would be for the
best so that the many diverse opinions in BC would have
a voice. I am currently 28 and have never felt my values were
represented so I understand why a lot of younger people don't even
bother voting. I know that no political system will ever sastify
everyone but there has got to be something better then the one we
have now.
