I am a 25 year old woman and I have voted every chance I have
had. My parents have raised me with the mantra that even one grain
of rice can tip the scale, so let my voice be heard. I feel that
our country's electoral system flawed. I do not agree with this old
fashioned and incorrect first past the post nonsense. But times of
change are upon us and as our aging population slowly shrinks, the
power will shift to my generation. A proactive approach would be to
examine the system today and prepare for change as we all know that
when something is stagnent, nothing can grow or survive. A system
where a party recieves 1.5 million votes and 55 seats and where
another party earns 570,000 votes and not one seat? Come on, where
is the justice and fairness in that? A government that we are
supposed to look to for justice and guidence and truth and
equality, doesn't even represent it's own values. I stand for
change, my friends stand for change, my generation stands for
change. You can be a part of the answer or play a part in the
problem.
