Abstract
I favour an MMP electoral system.  Switching to a more diverse legislature will mean moving from reactive fluctuating policies and governmental organisations to a more long term, well-crafted and just governmental system. [1 page]

Submission Content
I am in favour of a mixed member proportional (MMP) system.

Many presenters and CA documents describe the advantages of a more diverse and proportional system so I will not add to that discussion. Instead I would like to say a few words to refute what I have heard most often to be the drawback Pro Rep., that such a government may not be a majority and thus will be ineffectual. In fact coalition governments can be productive, Canada health care being one example of what consensus building can do. Contrast that with most BC governments in my memory (since the 70's) that passed a lot of legislation that was not always sensitive to the diverse needs of this province. Often they were replaces by successive governments with new legislation that was not necessarily any better. Switching to a more diverse legislature will mean moving from reactive fluctuating policies and governmental organisations to a more long term, well-crafted and just government.
