The Citizens' Assembly should take a close look at the system used in Nunavut, in particular, how the elected members vote for the premier after an election.  It should also consider some form of proportional representation.  [1 page]

Submission Content
I hope that the Citizens' Assembly will take a close look at the system used in Nunavut, in particular, how the elected members vote for the premier, rather than the premier automatically being the leader of the party with the most members. I realize that Nunavut does not have a party system as such, but I think this system could work here. It's not so different from the current practice of an all-party vote for the Speaker of the House.

I also think we should have a proportional system, although I have not studied enough of them in detail to make any suggestions as to which system would serve our needs best.
