This is such an important initiative. Unfortunately I have been
unable to attend any of the hearings so I thought I'd send a little
note. Proportional representation [PR] can be
a saving grace for the democratic elections. B.C. should make these
progressive change for elections. It should happen federally too,
but let's lead the way.
The need for these reforms is brought home by recent examples in
the up coming federal election with Paul Martin asking NDPer's to
voter Liberal to block the Conservatives. What a ridiculous, but
real, situation voters are placed in. Look how B.C. has really
suffered from the flip-flop governments and their polices of the
day. Pro rep. should even the playing field. Pro rep should help
give people hope as they will know their vote won't be wasted.
Let's count everyone and work together for a future in which we all
have a say.
